580 centimeters of sturdy cotton with Ikat motif of small squares. Ideal for a dress, jacket, pants or blouse. With Ikat you can go in all directions. It is sturdy, you can wash it well and it is also very original.
This Ikat was woven in Hyderabad, South India by a young woman of just 19 years old. That's special. In India there are few young people who choose the weaving trade. It offers little prospects for the future. But for Chandana it is different. Her father died at a young age. He was a highly respected Ikat weaver with many awards to his name. Chandana has decided to follow in her father's footsteps and let his name live on. A brave decision.
Read about Ikat in the blog how this fabric is made.
NB! The fabric comes straight off the loom and has not yet been washed.
