This jacket is made from organic indigenous cotton from the Gujarat region of India. An almost extinct type of cotton that is regionally bound, is by tradition grown organically and needs only pure rainwater.
The design of this jacket is from designer Padmaja who works with a women's weave collective: Women Weave. Together with the women, she has been working on the loom to shape this jacket in such a way that it has a completely unique effect of many surfaces while only two colors have been used. The jacket is finished in her own small-scale studio in Mumbai. The result: a stunning double-sided wearable jacket.
This jacket belongs to the "Loom of my mind" collection, a reference to a poem by the 15th-century poet Kabir. The designer herself about the collection: "the hand-woven textiles for each item of clothing are, as it were, sculpted, piece by piece formed into a whole. Precise gradations in texture and color have been used; an accumulation of layers that respond to each other and complement each other".
The jacket is suitable for size 38 and 40.
