Sleeveless checkered cardigan, handwoven in beautiful shades of blue with beige and red accents. Read more..
A special vest made of hand-woven cotton. With strongly extended lapels, pleats at the shoulders and a slightly narrow sleeve opening. This is a typical cardigan that is worn as an extra layer over a dress or shirt, but not so much for warmth.
You wear this cardigan low on the shoulders so that the sleeve opening is not tight under the armpit. The sleeve opening is therefore only 16 centimeters.
There are two loops on the inside of one sleeve opening. The small, metal buttons fit in there. So you can fasten one long lapel crosswise.
The design is by Padmaja. She also designed the fabric with the fine checks. This is handwoven by the weavers collective Women Weave in Central India. Here hand weaving mainly is done by women. They work together with various fashion designers. It often takes months for designers and weavers to find just the right colors and texture for the fabric.
