These comfortable silk palazzo pants are wonderfully light to wear. The fabric feels extremely soft and waves with your movements due to the supple structure.
The pants are designed by House of Wandering Silk (HOWS) and are made of Eri silk. This silk is produced in an animal-friendly manner. This means that the caterpillars turn into a moth and only silk is made from the cocoons that have been left behind.
In mass production for the silk industry, silkworm are boiled alive in their cocoons to preserve the structure of the silk threads.
The structure of this Eri silk is therefore different from the large-scale industrially produced silk. Eri silk is more irregular and can therefore only be woven by hand. Eri silk is firmer and has very good thermal properties: cooling at a warm temperature and warming in cool weather. Eri silk has a subtle sheen and is very smooth.
Due to the low crotch, these pants can be worn high in the waist from the hip. The elastic waistband makes the fit very comfortable. The wide legs accentuate the drape and flow of the fabric. The pats have side pockets in the side seam.
