This sweater with boat neck is soft and supple woven from wool from Rajasthan sheep. The sheep are herded by shepherds who lead a nomadic life.

Sheep flocks in the desert

Unlike us, these sheep mainly graze leaves from shrubs and trees in the Thar desert. The sheep are of the original, native Indian species Magra and Nali.

Maintain traditional way of shepherds

For as long as shepherds have been tending these sheep, they have had weaving communities weave large scarves from the wool. Today the traditional way of life of the shepherds is under threat. A non-profit foundation helps the herders by buying wool from them, having them weaved and marketing it. We buy the wool from this foundation.
