This long tunic in very airy, hand-woven cotton is a fantastic multifunctional garment. A lightweight tunic that you can wear unbuttoned over any basic outfit.
The technique of weaving motifs in cotton fabric with a small spool is typical of West Bengal. It is time-consuming and specialist work and is called Jamdani. In 2013, Jamdani weaving was labeled by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The tunics are designed by Sarita, one of the two sisters of the sustainable label Karomi . They are based in Calcutta (now Kolkata) in the state of West Bengal in India. They work closely with local hand weavers and make full use in their collections of the textile tradition for which the region is famous: the refined cotton and the excellent weaving.
The tunic has 2 side pockets.
