White Jacket with unique hand embroidery in black, made by excellent craftsmen.
Part of the embroidery on the jacket is Aari embroidery. This is done with a special long needle that has a hook at the end. A craft that has been practiced for centuries, especially in Northern India. The jacket is also stitched with a manually operated embroidery machine.
The cotton of the jacket comes from the Indian company Malkha. Malkha restores the eco-system of organic cotton growing and manual spinning and weaving. Malkha also works exclusively with eco-friendly colors for their textiles.
The lining of the jacket is made of animal-friendly silk, the so-called Ahimsa silk. No caterpillars were killed for this side. The cocoons are only used to weave the fabric when the silk butterfly has crawled out of the cocoon. The selection is done by hand!
This jacket is from our own collection. Read here all about the production and suppliers of Via India.
