A wonderfully soft woolen scarf with a refined embroidered stripe of vegetable indigo.
The scarf is hand-woven in the North West of India in Bhuj. A small village where a local weaver community is completely dependent on spinning and weaving as a source of income. This weaving tradition is many generations old and the craftsmanship is great.
For the embroidery of this scarf, weaver Samji consulted the Rabari community. A nomadic people with a long embroidery tradition. The line with circles is a typical motif of the Rabari. The circles are filled with small mirrors in their own traditional clothing. All scarves woven in Bhuj have a pattern that is characteristic of a certain community.
